Lufi Surf Co.

Created in 1987 on Costa da Caparica, Portugal, Lufi Surf Co. has become one of the most known and respected brands in the world of surfing and longboarding. Luis Filipe “Lufi” Bento (founder, owner, shaper and athlete) has built a brand that has gained worldwide recognition in the last 30 years and has cultivated strong relationships with athletes who have won several titles on five continents with their boards (Michel Demont, Jason Ribbink , Picuruta Salazar, Paulo Kid, Danilo Rodrigo, Carlos Bahia, Duane DeSoto, Ben Skinner, Jefson Silva and Rodrigo Sphaier).Lufi is dedicated to the design and production of custom made boards. Over the last 30 years, the brand has evolved and is known as an exceptional product, which aims to distinguish itself from the competition for the quality and performance achieved by the boards, which can range from the classic to the more progressive and competitive.

The Golden Edition collection is the result of 30 years of work that unites the art, competence and effectiveness of a product that allows us to return to the 60s and 70s and to Californian (Orange County, Venice Beach, Malibu) and Australian Noosa Heads, Byron Bay). The work developed with athletes such as Jefson Silva and Augusto Olinto allowed us to create a line of surfboards that surprises us by the ease of movement and performance, managing to transport us to the golden age of surfing and the old school lifestyle.

About Brooklyn

California Dream

As the name implies is a California Style, with some changes to this famous classic. The main, and most notorious, is the decrease of an inch in tail width so that there can be a faster passage from rail to rail, especially in cutbacks. We also changed the water outlet at the bottom of the board, so as not to lose stability in the nozzle. These developments in design have made it an extremely easy to surf board.

It’s a mandatory longboard for anyone who wants a more classic surf.

This board is the replica of the famous “wide hip”, known by Pig in the golden years, but very much in vogue these days.

In this model we made some modifications in the background and volume distribution for a better performance and control of the board.

This model, with very special outline, has all the characteristics of an excellent NoseRide, but with the extra ease in the curves, that the wing’s particularity attributes to it, in waves flatter.

Without doubt a very tempting longboard for a OldSchool surfer.

Noosa Secret

Inspired by good surfing in Noosa Heads – Australia, it is one of the easiest surfboards in all small sea conditions.

It allows long Hang Ten very close to the pocket of the waves and without losing control as well as beautiful bends without needing to press too much the tail. Rowing is equally easy, just like on straight boards.

60s

60’s

This board was designed to be the most progressive of the Golden Edition line, but maintaining all the characteristics of the era, ie little rocker and all roll in the background.
This model was the great transition for surfers of the 60’s who wanted to have a more versatile board for all types of waves.
This type of outline, like other models of wide tail, allows both surfing larger and smaller waves, just as easily.

Do not be fooled by the nose of this model, as it allows you to pass the surf more easily and not lose the stability and performance in Hang Fives and Hang Ten.

SpeedWay

It is the most progressive shortboard of our Golden Edition.

We kept a lot of volume throughout the board for greater rowing ease and we lowered the rail to not lose the performance of a “board”. We used a Curvey Outline for better performance in the tightest corners. Undoubtedly one of the best surfboards any shortboard surfer can have on their quiver, especially for those who do not surf as regularly as they would like.

This model is a hybrid, for those who want to have a board to replace the longboard on the most aggressive days, the rowing sensation is the same, but it succeeds in tightening the curves in the wave pocket.

This shortboard is designed to get into the waves very easily. With little rocket in the nose and tail, give it a speed you’ll never feel on another board.

This tail design allows very fast and safe steering changes, making it one of the best 1 to 2-foot wave boards.

Developed in 1997, this is the most versatile board in our quiver. For the initiated surfer, this is a very stable board, easy on the paddling and of excellent operation in the rail exchange, in both small and large waves. A model tested and that has already provided several victories to athletes such as Picuruta Salazar, Danilo Rodrigo, Eduardo Bagé, Carlos Bahia, among others. This board adapts to all sea conditions.

It has a concave of nose to middle and passes to V until the tail exit.

Sea Devil

This board began to be designed and tested in 2010 by surfers Ben Skinner, Aurelien Menieux, Carlos Bahia, James Parry. After all of them have won several championships with this model we have refined, among us, all the small details coming out one of the most competitive boards today. For being such an incredible board for all of us, we could only give the name of Sea Devil to this model..

For those who like high performance boards, this demon is perfect!

We started to develop this board in 2014, when WSL altered the rules of competition on the longboard, as it required longboarders to have a greater commitment and performance in the beak and less surf in the tail of the board, it was not easy, but the longboard is already available!

With this board everyone can make Hang Ten long and deep inside the pocket of the wave, give a cutback with speed and precision of a shortboard, what lost was the speed and the quick transition of the bottom top, but for this type of manoeuvres we have to Famous Seadevil.

Lufi Model

The Pro Lufi Model is a high performance board, developed in 1993, undergoing several changes over time. A very versatile board, has a concave with depth of 3/4 that comes from the nose to a little more than half of the board. It has a double concave with 1/4 of depth, from the middle to the lateral keels, where it divides in V, until the tail. The measurements used by Lufi are 21 1/2 wide and 2 3/4 thick, 13 tail and 16 nose, for waves from 1 to 4 feet. For waves of 5 to 10 feet, Lufi chooses 21 wide, 2 3/4 thick, 13 tail and 16 nose.

This model provided Lufi with 9 national titles (6 from Lufi and 3 from José “Zézinho” Lafuente) and several excellent results on world and European circuits.
